HTC 10 launched in India with Snapdragon 820 at INR 52,990 ($787)

HTC has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the HTC 10 smartphone during MWC in February earlier this year. Featuring 5.2-inch Quad-HD Super LCD display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, and 4GB RAM, the device came with a somewhat modular aspect and last year’s primary camera. The smartphone has been launched in India today.

At the official live event last month, the company said it will launch the HTC 10 Lifestyle with  Snapdragon 652 processor in India and Russia, but within 24 hours the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer had to withdraw its decision due to outrage from consumers. HTC later announced that the Snapdragon 820 variant of the HTC 10 will be announced.

The HTC 10 comes with new BoomSound speakers – a front-firing tweeter speaker and a bottom firing woofer – which improves sound fidelity. It has an all-metal unibody shell with an unmistakably large chamfer at the back, which makes it looks attractive. You now get a 12-megapixel UltraPixel rear-facing camera with a large 1.34µm pixel size for better low-light imaging accompanied by a wider Æ’/1.8 aperture. There’s OIS on offer for both cameras: rear-facing 16-megapixel as well as 5-megapixel UltraPixel front-facing camera.
