HTC will Patent Everything on the HTC One. Worries Samsung will Steal their Innovations.

In the patent wars between Apple and everything Android, you forget that there is sometimes civil wars. OEM’s that run Android also sew each other, simply because they do have some new and innovative features to add to the Android platform. With the recent release of the HTC One, HTC worries that Samsung might steal some of the new features of the phone, and plan to patent all the features so they will not be able to.

HTC’s President of Global Sales, Jason Mackenzie, recently had an interview where he mentioned all of this. He referenced the HTC One X and how the camera was definitely full of innovation. Features such as burst shot, and slow motion video capture, were what made the HTC One series phones stand out. Obviously since then, Samsung phones have integrated those features, and of course, have sold a hell of a lot more phones. Which then leads people to believe that Samsung had created these new innovative features. He does also mention how marketing of the One series phones were pretty weak, so hopefully the put the right amount of marketing behind the HTC One.

Mackenzie then goes on to say that HTC plans on patenting all the new features of the HTC One. Blinkfeed, Zoe Gallery, BoomSound, and Ultra pixel, will be all patented so Samsung cannot get credit for them. This will not stop Samsung though. They will just come up with a different way and name of some of these features. It probably will not be all the features, neither. Highly doubt Samsung will have some sort of Blinkfeed, but I can see them wanting a version of BoomSound. Let us know what you guys think about this.
