For the last few days, we’ve been seeing leaks of a mysterious Huawei device that looks awfully like last year’s Huawei Ascend Mate 7 – given rumours that the Ascend Mate 8 was going to be delayed till 2016, we were left with the conclusion that this would be an upgraded variant of the Ascend Mate 7, but what would its name be? Names like the Ascend Mate 7 Plus had been floated, but according a teaser posted by Zhu Ping, President of Huawei‘s consumer business, we’re strongly lead to believe that the device Huawei is going to announce at IFA 2015 is going to be the Huawei Ascend Mate 7S – the giant “S” is a dead giveaway.
Of course, the teaser also sets a date for the announcement, namely September 2nd. While the Ascend Mate 7S is no doubt going to headline Huawei’s event, we’re also wondering whether the Huawei Watch is also going to make an appearance after Huawei started teasing its release again. Whatever the case, Huawei’s event is going to be an exciting one given its growing profile in the global smartphone market.
