Hulu Plus updates with new ad-free Kids Section

Hulu Plus updated today for all you paid subscribers to the service. The update includes a new ad-free Kids section to the mix. Offering up content suitable just for kids without the barrage of advertisements. The update also adds in a Kids Lock feature that lets parents lock down the app to allow only access to Kid content. They also added in some new trays to help you discover more TV clips, shows and movie content.

The rest of the update included some minor bug fixes and improvements for general users as well as playback fixes for Motorola Droid RAZR HD owners.

There are still a few things missing, and made very clear in the Play Store comments. One being HDMI out support. Why on earth Hulu Plus and HBO Go block HDMI out from the app on Android is beyond us. The service is paid for by customers, why prevent them from enjoying the content on a larger screen or TV? The other issue is the app not functioning on the Nexus 4 with the latest Android 4.2.1 update.

Hulu Plus is a pretty great application, but when you look at 4,148 five stars ratings and 4,633 one star ratings for silly little things that they do, it is apparent that they need to do some work still. Any of our readers big Hulu Plus users, or have you forgone the service to use other options that give you what you need?
