Ice Cream Sandwich coming to T-Mobile Springboard August 15th

The T-Mobile Springboard made by Huawei wasn’t a terrible little tablet for the money when it was released. Of course since then we have many more options that most of us will choose over it, like the Nexus 7. For those of you that did snag up a Springboard, you will be happy to know that an update to the device is on the way on August 15th. Get this, it’s Ice Cream Sandwich. Although it is only Android 4.0.3 and not 4.0.4. Still, a boost from Honeycomb to ICS is a welcomed update for pretty much any tablet at this point.

The official OTA should hit devices Wednesday morning. You can always try out the old school method of checking for updates by going to Settings > About tablet > System updates (Google) > Check Now. As always, make sure you have well over 50% battery charge before attempting to install the update oor you will get a nice message telling you to charge your device first. That can be a bit annoying.

Anyone out there have a Springboard and looking forward to the update? We can’t imagine too many people are picking them up right now since T-Mobile has them listed at $299.99 on a new contract.
