Intel Looking To Grow In The Mobile Chip Market

intelWith mobile processor manufacturers like Qualcomm, Nvidia and Samsung forging ahead in the market, PC-powerhouse Intel has been left looking a bit lost in this incredibly fast moving world. They are, however, planning to change this as new CEO, Brian Krzanich, has divulged in an interview with Reuters.

In the interview, Krzanich has said that Intel will be looking much more at accelerating their mobile technologies and to put new emphasis on their Atom line of mobile processors; Atom processors have long been the low-end of PC processors, but this change should signal the re-imagining of this line of processors for high performance mobile applications.

I really believe that Intel has the potential to do in the mobile processor industry what they have done in the PC processor industry, however, I think their slow and late start in the market is now very much working against them. Judging by the performance that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 has been showing in recent news though, Intel better find their feet quickly.
