KiteUI Makes an Appearance to Give Us Relief After TAT Sells Out

When The Astonishing Tribe and RIM made their announcement yesterday, I felt like a child learning Santa Claus wasn’t real. All my magical dreams and beliefs where shattered. Thankfully, not all hope is lost. There is always another fish in the sea looking to make big waves. KiteUI is one of those fish. The team is looking to make a prettier and more useful UI for our beloved Android phones. It is not as overly visual as TAT or SPB Mobile Shell have been working on, but it is extremely clean and looks like a more realistic replacement. Check out the video below for a little glimpse of the concept.

It definitely seems to flow pretty well. Liquidice from XDA is the head of the project and they are looking for more developers to help jump on board. If you are interested in this bringing this project to life, surf on over to the xda-developers forum. The images below are mock up promo ads, none of this is set in stone yet. I believe if enough good developers get together on this project it could become a reality soon.

What’s your opinion? Would you make this you daily home replacement as long as it is smooth and useful? Let us know how you feel about it.
