Lenovo P70 mid-range phone brings a 4,000 mAh battery device to China

Lenovo has launched a new mid-ranged device in China today. The P70 carries some pretty solid specs with a 5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, a 1.7GHz MediaTek 64-bit octa-core processor, 13MP rear camera and a 5PM front shooter. The new phone brings in Android 4.4 unfortunately.

Where the device really stands out though is the 4,000 mAh battery that is found on board. While large in terms of mAh’s, it doesn’t add as much bulk to the phone’s design as one might think measuring in at just 8.9mm thick and only weighs in at 149g. Lenovo lists the battery life as 30.5 days on stand-by on 4G and 18 hours of talk time on 3G. They are also keen to point out that the massive battery will fully charge in 3 hours, or you can give it a quick 15 minute charge for an additional 4 hours of use. To round out the specs on the P70 we see it will wield dual-sim slots for multi carrier support on one device. It comes with 16GB of on-board storage, but it you need more you can utilize one of the sim card slots with a micro SD card to gain some more. This is the first time I have heard of dual purposing the slots before, but it isn’t beyond the realm of possibility.

The Lenovo P70 is available right now in China for 1,399 Yuan, which translates to approximately $222 USD. I doubt we will see this specific device make it over seas any time soon, but it certainly does sound interesting at that price tag. I hope Lenovo gets into the US soon with a few devices.
