LG Optimus 3D – Detailed

LG is currently holding their news conference over at Mobile World Congress.  They have just announced (officially) the LG Optimus 3D.  With dual-core processors and dual memory channels this phone is designed for power and speed.  LG ran Quadrant for the attendees and it’s result was 2,958.

The processor is a TI OMAP4 (Model 4430) running at 1GHz.  The 3D can play Full HD with HDMI and DLNA output.  On the back you find dual 5MP cameras.  This allows  consumers to shoot both 3D images as well as video (video resolution and bitrate in 3D resolution and bitrate video. 4:3 WVGA, 720p in 3D). You will be able to view these 3D files in all their stereoscopic glory on the 4″ 3D display – one without the need to wear glasses.  When recording in 3D the Optimus 3D actually adjusts to allow you to watch in 3D.  After you have finished shooting you can upload video to YouTube 3D in order to share with the world.

The partnership with YouTube is announced as well, covered here earlier.  LG has also designed a dedicated 3D UI to make the whole experience feel truly complete.  I personally am very interested in getting a review unit of this to see if the 3D hype is valid.
