LG to introduce a second Intel-Powered Smartphone at CES 2012?

For those of you who attended CES 2011, you may have visited the LG exhibit and laid your eyes upon LG and Intel’s first Intel-powered smartphone, which ran on Intel’s Atom Moorestown x86 architecture. The processor ran smoothly on the Android device, but the device’s plans to hit the market were ultimately scrapped due to “lack of marketability.”

According to Korea Times, LG may be giving an Intel-powered smartphone another chance and will look to introduce it at CES 2012. However, no other details are specified, such as the design of the phone, or whether not the device will even be capable enough to compete with other devices currently on the market. However, the processor, which is Intel’s Medfield ‘system-on-a-chip,’ looks to be extremely promising, as with all of Intel’s other next-generation processors.
