MemoPad Smart 10 gets unveiled ahead of MWC

ASUS MemoPad Smart 10
There are three events that we look forward too. CES, Mobile World Congress and Google I/O. Mobile World Congress is a big one for the mobile space and industry. We know all the big names will be there showcasing various devices and products. While we know Samsung will take to their own stage after MWC and HTC will take to their own stage in just 8 days from now, there is still plenty to be had at the show. ASUS will be there for sure and we have heard rumors of an announcement for the MemoPad Smart 10 already, looks like they jumped the ahead of schedule and let the device loose already.

The new MemoPad Smart will come fully loaded on a 10.1-inch WXGA display. Feature a 1.2 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and 1 GB of RAM. It also offers up 16 GB of internal memory and a MicroSD card slot. The MemoPad Smart also has a 5 MP rear camera and 1.2 MP front facer. It is set to launch running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It is scheduled to be available in white, blue and pink and land at $360. Check out the video of the new MemoPad Smart and see what you think.

We would have loved to see ASUS step it up and put 2 GB’s of RAM in this one, but it still looks like it has some great potential. Still, the Nexus 7 and what ever Google has planned for the next-gen device is going to make for some stiff competition in the tablet arena. What is your take on the MemoPad Smart 10? Looks like this is headed to Thailand right now, if it goes global is it really a contender?
