[Update] MIUI 4.0 preview with early release download for Nexus S Users

Today is shaping up to be a rather interesting day after all. Google announced Android 4.0.3 as the base version for devices and tablets. We heard that they are now rolling out official Ice Cream Sandwich updates to the Samsung Nexus S and now we have a little bit more good news on the ICS front. Seems that MIUI 4.0 shows off how it is coming along and they even offer up a preview package ROM for testing. Not a bad day for the Nexus S wouldn’t you say?

Below you will find the video of 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running on the Xiaomi phone.

It is nice to see MIUI is taking a slightly different approach with Android 4.0. Instead of redoing the entire thing, it looks like the core functions will stay the same with some MIUI mixed in. If you are itching to try it out, you can head over to MIUI.com. Scroll down through the device list, which is all in Chinese, and find the Nexus S. I am sure the ROM is all in Chinese as well since it hasn’t been properly translated yet to MIUI.us. We will keep an eye out for it though and see what we can find.

Good luck to anyone brave enough to see what happens. We aren’t responsible if your phone blows up or kidnaps your dog.

UPDATE: Thanks to abqnm, he pointed us in another direction inside XDA. It has a few photos of MIUI 4.0 along with the translated download. Near as we can tell. Here’s some screen shots of what they have –

That looks more MIUI doesn’t it.
