New HTC Ville outed; ICS, Sense 4.0 all on a 4.3-inch Screen

November is prime time month for new device launches. Carriers and OEMs are looking to squeeze as much money out of the consumers as possible before Q4 ends. Now that we know what pretty much all the devices that will launch this year, what about next year? That is where leaks begin to take over.

Recently there was a leak of one new HTC device codenamed the Edge. It is supposed to be the first handset to pack in the quad-core chipset. Now we have another HTC device surfacing. The current code name for this device is the Ville. Supposedly to be announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona Spain in February, the Ville should be sitting along side the Edge. I personally expect a few of these be running around CES as well. Hopefully we can track one down a little early.Check out what it is said to be offering –

  • 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display
  • 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor
  • 8MP rear shooter (the same one that’s reportedly in the Edge)
  • Metal construction
  • Less than 8mm thick
  • HSPA+
  • 1650mAh battery

Doesn’t sound all that crazy compared to the rumored specs of the Edge. Sounds a lot like the Amaze that is already out now. What does make it stand out a bit though is that it will be sporting Ice Cream Sandwich and a new Sense 4.0 UI. Although, I am not sure what HTC has up their sleeves, bringing the Sense UI on top of ICS is sure to diminish the whole look and feel of the OS. I’m not all that thrilled about that idea.

The rumor places this device in the public’s hands sometime in April of 2012. Assuming the world doesn’t end before then.

What do you guys think? Will this become the new mid-range device? Will all the quad-core madness fast approaching, will dual-core become average before April?
