New Root Method found for Droid 2 and Droid R2D2

One of the great things about the Android development community is that they never seem to fully forget about a device. Carriers might outdate the device within a few months (Such as the Droid X2/Droid 3), but the Android community will always have your back.

The Droid 2/R2D2 is already almost 2 years old. When Gingerbread finally came for the device(s), rooting was an incredibly painful process. However, thanks to developer phifc, a new root method has been found which is as simple as loading up RSD Lite and flashing the .SBF file that the developer has created. It will work on Android 2.3, which is the current version of Android that the two devices have and will likely be the last official software release that they see from Verizon.
