NVIDIA Tegra 5, Or Project Logan, To Feature In NVIDIA Tablet In Q1 2014

NVIDIA Tegra 5Tegra 4 has hardly taken its hold on the mobile world yet, still only seeing the light of day through the NVIDIA Shield which started shipping just over a week ago. Yet, we’ve already seen NVIDIA demo some next-gen mobile graphics that would make mobile and PC enthusiasts alike drool in awe. We know this amazing graphics work is being developed under the title of Project Logan, however Fudzilla is reporting that Project Logan is actually the foundation for NVIDIA‘s next graphics platform, Tegra 5.

Fudzilla is also claiming that while also developing Tegra 5, NVIDIA is planning to further their hardware endeavours by dipping their toes into the tablet market with a NVIDIA-branded, Tegra 5-powered offering in Q1 2014. The tablet market is definitely getting crowded, but as NVIDIA develops its own chips in-house, it may maintain an edge over other manufacturers much like the advantage Samsung is enjoying at the moment.

All the same, if this turns out to be true, it’s an exciting development for the mobile gaming community where the graphics capabilities of mobile devices has been growing in leaps and bounds in recent years.
