Pocket has its first birthday, gives you an update as a present Instead

One year ago, Read It Later was redesigned and recreated as the app Pocket (even though its original name was probably more intuitively descriptive). One year on, is has become a very popular app for saving content for later perusal. I find that its greatest appeal comes from the fact that your saved content is available on all your device and is available offline. What more could you want from a content saving app?

In the spirit of its birthday, Pocket is updating its Android app with more features to share saved content with friends. These features include:

  • Share Menu with Friend Shortcuts
  • Send to Friend feature
  • Inbox for Shared Content
  • Sharing Notifications

These new features reflect the recent behaviour of Pocket users, who apparently are twice as likely to share things via email than through social media.

How are you finding this new update? Share with us your thoughts.
