Root outed for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

Not everyone is concerned with rooting their device, but those of you that are like to know it is possible before spending any money. Whether it happens before the device is out, shortly after launch or a few months later, it is good info to know. Anymore, Samsung devices have root before they ever even get off the ground. Mostly because Samsung seems to play nice with the community more than some of the other manufacturers. Much like previous Samsung devices, all it takes is a Galaxy Note 10.1, a PC, ODIN, the drivers and a file. Of course you need to know how to read and follow instructions and how to click a mouse too.

Thanks to Zedomax, all is good for root on the Note 10.1. The method doesn’t break OTA updates either, although a OTA usually will un-root your device requiring you to go through the process once again. A small price to pay if you want root but also want to stay stock. The only catch right now is that the firmware choice is limited to Saudi Arabian / UAE or European. Zedomax will be adding more country firmware’s as he his gets his hands on them.

He is also working up a ClockworkMod Recovery based solution for those of you that might not like ODIN, or don’t have a windows PC to use it. Still, it is nice to see the Note 10.1 with some root action already. Now to see what the developers do with the device.

For those that are interested in taking a gander at the instructions, video tutorial and getting the files needed, direct your browser over to RootGalaxyNote.com. Nice find AP.
