Sonic 4: Episode 2 might be last installment of the Game

When old school meets new school there is always a clash of nostalgia for the older generation and the unknowing younger generation. When we first saw the news about Sonic 4: Episode 1, we were immediately brought back to the days of Sega and the black 3 button controller. With the crazy added ‘C’ button. At the time it was a big deal after having just two buttons on the Nintendo. Sonic 4 cam out the gates with high hopes but fell short for many users. It just didn’t always seem to have the same gameplay style that we longed for from the old days. It still did the trick though. After hearing all the feedback, Sega got to work fixing it up and hyped up the sequel, Sonic 4 Episode 2. Bringing back Sonic’s trusty sidekick, Tails. We are still eagerly awaiting for that episode to land.

Now we find out from Digital Spy that Episode 2 might be the last one to grace our hands. Producer Takashi Lizuka had this to say –

“We are looking forward to hearing the feedback from the users for Episode 2, but we are currently not planning to release another episode.”

Sad day indeed. That doesn’t mean the legacy or saga that is Sonic is over. It just means that they don’t plan to produce an Episode 3, yet. He added   “We just want to see how the users accept this episode.” Assuming that Episode 2 is a wild success, it could prompt them to continue with another addition. We can only hope that it is received better than the first episode and all their hard work to make it shine works out.
