Sony announces Xperia Z3v for Verzion, launching October 23rd

Sony Xperia Z3v

So much going on today! There is a livestream for an event from Lenovo at 12pm PST and right now there is an event in New York with Sony. The big news with them is the Sony Xperia Z3v. This would be Verizon’s version of the Xperia Z3. The new Xperia Z3v will be available on October 23rd at most Verizon outlets for $199.99 on a new 2-year contract. Verizon will be offering up a discount for those that buy the Xperia Z3v and the Z2 Tablet. The discount for a dual purchase will knock $200 off your out-of-pocket charge.

The Verizon Xperia Z3v will bring the 20.7MP camera, the waterproof awesomeness and maybe more importantly for some, the PS4 remote play functions to US shores. This is pretty big news. Sony hasn’t been on Verizon in a long time. With the exception of the more recent tablet offering. Phone wise though, they just weren’t here. T-Mobile gave it a go with the Z and Z1s, and both were great little devices, but the Z3 is a monster compared to those. Being n the largest network in the US and their huge marketing budget should help get this device into a lot of hands. I am still waiting for T-mobile to make the announcement on this device too though as they will be carrying it. I am assuming it will be in Novemeber sometime since the Verizon announcement carried lots of “exclusive” tags with it.

In slightly less spectacular news, but still googd news. They also announced that Verizon would be stocking the Sony Smart Watch 3 later this month.
