Sony Ericsson announced 50GB of FREE storage via BOX for all Xperia Owners

At the end of November we caught wind of a story that Sony Ericsson was partnering up with BOX.net. The offer would include 50GB of FREE storage for life. When we announced the information, Sony quickly recanted the offer stating that it wasn’t quite ready for mass consumption yet. Some one apparently published it to their site a little bit early. They said it would be coming but they just weren’t sure when.

Today looks to be the day though. according to their website and an official press release, the 50GB deal is in full swing. The only requirement is that you have an Xperia branded device. Simply download Box and sign in and you should be presented with 50GB of storage space.

“With people   taking more pictures, listening to more music and watching more video on their Xperia smartphone than ever before, especially over the holidays, we wanted to make sure that they had the ability to upload their content to the cloud and share  it across multiple devices..  Xperia™ and Box® will provide consumers with access to a massive amount of content on the go putting their smartphone at the very heart of their connected lifestyle,” commented Steve Walker, Chief Marketing Officer, Sony Ericsson.

It is a pretty sweet offer. The deal is available for all new and existing Xperia users. Once you have recieved your 50GB you are guaranteed it for life. The promotion to snag that 50GB of storage is available for 1 full year. So if you don’t have an Xperia device yet, but plan to buy one, you have some time to get in on the deal.

To make you life a little easier, you will find the QR code below for the Box app. Simply click or scan it to install the application. If you already have a Box account, you should automatically be moved up to 50GB with no extra work.
