Sony pushes Xperia NXT Series devices to the U.S.

Sony is a name many of us know, but few of us in the states actually own. There are a handful of devices that have crossed the ocean, one of the best known was the Xperia Play. More recently AT&T brought the Xperia Ion to U.S. customers, but many great devices have been left as overseas units only. That is until today. Sony has just announced three of there best Xperia devices are now available for people to order here in the states. These are all GSM unlocked versions of course. No new carrier announcements have been pushed out, just yet.

The Xperia NXT series is composed of three great Sony devices, the Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U. Each one has its own special place in the smartphone world and each one gets better than the last.

·         Xperia S – MSRP $559.99, unlocked, in black or white

·         Xperia P – MSRP $479.99, unlocked, in silver, red or black

·         Xperia U – MSRP $299.99, unlocked, in black or white

For being unlocked version of the devices, the prices aren’t to terrible. Each device is special in it own right and offers something a bit different to consumers. Lets give you a brief little rundown of all three models.

Xperia S – 4.3-inch HD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine at 1280×720. 12MP rear camera with Sony’s Exmor R. 1GB RAM and a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 processor.

Xperia P - 4-inch qHD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine at 960×540. 8MP rear camera with Sony’s Exmor R. 1GB RAM and a 1GHz STE U8500 dual-core processor.

Xperia U – 3.5-inch Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine at 854×480. 5MP rear camera. 512MB RAM and a 1GHz STE U8500 dual-core processor.

All three of them are still sporting Android Gingerbread 2.3, but Sony lists them as upgradeable to ICS. All three of them are really nice devices, the Xperia S is the best of the best they currently offer. Having seen and used a few Sony Mobile devices in the past, I can tell you first hand that their screens are brilliant and the photos they take are absolutely amazing. If you aren’t big on the Samsung movement and want something you can show off that your friends don’t all have, an Xperia S is a pretty tempting device in my opinion.
