Source confirms Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have a microSD slot; pricing and display sizes rumoured

While Samsung‘s 2015 flagships were very, very good, one of the major criticisms of all their devices was the lack of a microSD slot. While we could definitely debate about the benefits of devices with and without microSD slots till the cows come home, it seemed blatantly obvious that Samsung changing this up rubbed some people the wrong way. Well, for those people who made their latest smartphone purchase choice based on whether the device has a microSD slot, this news is for you – one of SamMobile‘s sources has today confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have a microSD slot.

Luckily, that’s not all the source had to say. According to the source, the Galaxy S7 will have a 5.1-inch display and the Galaxy S7 edge will be 5.5-inch. While the Galaxy S7 screen size isn’t anything to write home about, the fact that the Galaxy S7 edge display size sits between the size of last year’s Galaxy S6 edge (5.1-inch) and Galaxy S6 edge+ (5.7-inch) gives further credence to the rumour that Samsung is only going to have one dual curved edge display device in 2016.

The source also goes on the confirm the pricing for the 32GB Galaxy S7 (€699) and 32GB Galaxy S7 edge (€799); 64GB variants are expected to be appropriately more expensive. These two devices are said to be announced in February, presumably at MWC 2016, and will be available for purchase within the same month.
