T-Mobile begins OTA updates with Android 5.1 for the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7

Earlier today Google let the world officially know what to expect, mostly, from the Android 5.1 Lollipop update. It brings in a lot of things, like Device Protection that lets you lock your device and keep it locked even if someone does a factory reset. It also brought along HD voice calling, dual-sim support and a few other things. As we expect, the update will land on Nexus devices long before it lands on other OEM branded devices.

T-Mobile looks to be on point with the update as it has listed it on their support pages for the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 devices. The update carries software version LMY47D. You will want to make sure you have well over 50% battery, a solid Wi-Fi connection and some time for the OTA to download and install. To check if your T-Mobile branded Nexus device has the update waiting for you head to your devices Settings > About Device > Software Update. Unfortunately doing that doesn’t guarantee that it will be ready to go.

Interestingly enough, it isn’t listed on the Nexus 6 support page. I am sure it is on its way too though.
