T-Mobile Opens Device Tune-Up Beta For Testing

Yesterday afternoon T-Mobile_USA posted via Twitter, announcing a new feature inside the T-Mobile Android app “My Account” called “Device Tune-up” and that further details would come today. This afternoon, the posted the tweet with a link to a beta test page where that if your phone meets the right requirements you can download that app for testing.

Within the My Account application, they are adding new function in the “My Device” section titled Device Tune-up.  Device Tune-up is built very similar to a task killer app that runs in the background at all times that will ‘tune-up’ the device by closing unused services that are running.

You can sign up here at the T-Mobile Device tune-up thread.

Requirements:

  • This beta will work on all T-Mobile Android devices running 2.1 and below. If installed on a device using 2.2, the you may see the My Device BETA icon but you will not have the Device Tune-up functionality.
  • This beta has not been tested on any devices running custom software outside of T-Mobile approved versions.  It is recommended you do not install this beta if you are running a custom ROM.
