T-Mobile Simply Prepaid plans announced with price cuts on monthly service

T-Mobile continuously keeps pushing the boundaries of what the current state of the wireless industry deems as ‘normal’. Today the carrier is pushing the boundaries in the prepaid sector of the company with three new Simply Prepaid plans which are scheduled to launch on January 25th.

The new Simply Prepaid plans are identical to the plan offerings of today’s Simple Choice Prepaid, but have received a slight decrease in pricing. All three new plans offer unlimited talk and text with a set high-speed data allotment. While the high-speed aspect is set, users can still access the web at a drastically cut down speed until the next bill cycle. By drastically, I mean they will slow you up to 128k.

“There’s a reason the Un-carrier continues to be #1 in prepaid, and it starts with our willingness to break the rules and give customers better choices,” said John Legere, president and CEO for T-Mobile. “We will never stop eliminating customer pain points.  The 1.2 million net new prepaid customers who joined T-Mobile last year already see that value, and we have no plans to stop there.”

As for pricing and bucket allotments new and existing customers can expect to snag a $40 a month plan with 1GB data, $50 a month plan with 3GB of data or for $60 a month have 5GB of data. That is down from the current $50, $60 and $70 price tags for the same offerings. If you are rocking your socks off on the Simple Choice $80 all unlimited plan, then you are pretty well stuck there as T-mobile isn’t bringing that plan down. At least not yet. Also, don’t expect any tethering, data stash, simple global, or music freedom. Those featured and benefits are reserved for the Simple Choice plans. You will, however, have Wi-Fi calling available on supported devices for no additional fee.
