Tha Icon Changer: Introducing the initial Tha Protocol to better help the Community

Tha Icon Changer
Earlier this morning we were pleased to announce the latest app release developed by Dcombl, Ben Lee and Tha Phlash. You can go back and check it out HERE. We knew that once it got out, the Android Community would be all over it. We were right. In an effort to move things along smoothly we made sure to bring up a few things to Phlash. Mainly the fact that it wouldn’t take but a few downloads for developers and themers to start testing it with their own icon packs or other people’s icon packs. That happened in under an hour.

Phlash got on the ball and started putting together some update information for those of you that make your own icons and want to utilize them with this theme building application. He put together the Tha Protocol. For now, it is pretty short. In a nutshell he wants this app to be successful, but he wants it to successful with the help of all icon designers across the globe. Letting you guys have the right information and naming tools available so that more people will be apt to install your icons on their devices as well.

To get you guys started in the long process of correctly naming you icons to work with Tha Icon Changer, Tha Phlash has created a very nice looking list of icons and their associated title’s. It includes 1,616 icons and their naming structure to ensure your icon designs will be applied correctly.

Icon Changer Naming
You can find that at the Name Structure page.

With 1,616 total icons already in the list, you shouldn’t run into many that aren’t already available. If an app that you have a custom icon for is not in the list, then you will need to wait for Phlash to get it added to his packs first. This is simply due to the nature of how the app works and is built. Once he has it in his packs, then it will recognize you icon as well and be built and  be able to be applied. If there is something you need or want added to the list, feel free to email Phlash the icon name and the activity through his ‘Contact’ page.

That about sums it up. For all you icon designers out there, be sure to make life simple and let us and your followers know if your icon packs are usable directly through this app. It will help us, help you and help the community.
