Verizon Galaxy Nexus gets Android 4.0.2 update hours before Launch

Android 4.0.2 for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Are you watching the countdown clock til tomorrow’s Galaxy Nexus launch on Verizon? Here’s a little gem to keep your thoughts occupied for a few minutes. It appears Google is rolling out a last-minute OTA for the G-Nex, bringing the OS version up to Android 4.0.2. From what we’ve heard, there’s nothing major to note about this update, as it’s likely a quick bug squasher to prep for tomorrow’s big day. According to Droid-Life, the new build is labeled ICL53F, and should be hitting the Nexus any time now, if it hasn’t already by the time you pick yours up. Of course, if it’s not there, you’ll always have the option of manually checking for the update via your device settings.

Are you one of the lucky bunch to already have your hands on a Galaxy Nexus? Was it worth the wait? I guess we’ll have to wait until tomorrow before any widespread news starts to trickle in.

Make sure to check out the official device page on Verizon’s website.
