Verizon: HTC DROID Incredible To Be the First Android Phone with V Cast Store

Earlier this morning we reported that a maintenance OTA update would be coming to the HTC Droid Incredible on November 8th and thanks to some helpful readers, it looks like this update will bring the V Cast App Store along with it making the Droid Incredible the first Android device to get it. Check out a recent statement from Verizon:

“Verizon Wireless will begin pushing a software update to the DROID Incredible next week. The update includes software enhancements that will pre-install V CAST Apps on the phone. We said earlier this year that we’d be expanding V CAST Apps to the Android platform, and the DROID Incredible is the first Android phone with the store. Developers continue to submit apps, and as a reminder, V CAST Apps allows carrier billing, so customers who purchase applications through our store will see those charges on their monthly bill. For more information about the update customers can go to www.verizonwireless.com/droidincrediblesupport.”

Since we first learned of the V Cast store coming to Android, we’ve received mixed feedback on the matter. For those of you who ultimately oppose the store on your device, it looks like root may be your only option if you would like to remove the bloatware. What do you say, thumbs up or thumbs down?
