Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 starts seeing Android 5.0 Lollipop updates

I guess pigs fly and hell is freezing over. In one heck of a shockingly wonderful surprise, it would seem that Verizon is in the process of pushing out Android 5.0 Lollipop to the Samsung Galaxy S5. The update is reportedly coming in two parts, one update to prep the device and one update to install the updates and carries the final build of VRU1BNLC.

Navigating over to Verizon we get additional details from their usual PDF pages regarding the new OTA. On the lockscreen you will see a shortcut for the phone and camera now, along with “material design-inspired notifications, ability to set priority and privacy for notifications and music control card. TouchWiz gets brighter and bolder with fluid animations inspired by material design. There are certainly a number of other things too, but rather than waste your time, just go check for the update. Head to Settings > System Updates. be sure you have a solid Wi-Fi connection, over 50% battery life and some time to work through both installs.
