What would make people switch from iPhone to Galaxy S6? A lower price, apparently

There’s a lot that Android enthusiasts don’t like about the new Samsung Galaxy S6 – its lack of microSD slot immediately springs to mind as well as its lack of removeable battery. The list is exhaustive, as it usually is, but in the bigger picture where Samsung is doing battle with Apple for top dog in the smartphone arena, the Galaxy S6 actually ticks a lot of boxes. In fact, when iPhone users were asked what would make them switch from iPhone to Galaxy S6, 22% of respondents answered that a lower price is all that would stop them from making the jump to Android.

That’s a pretty significant statistic considering how big the iPhone install base is – and how much they’re generally willing to pay for a smartphone. Of course, statistics can never truly be taken only at face value, it’s interesting to know that even Apple die-hards have at least some weaknesses – in fact, only 26% of the iPhone users polled said that nothing could get them to chance from the iPhone. Of course, the overarching theme is ecosystem, something that Apple still does better than Google (and Samsung), but the fact that it has iPhone users considering something else is progress nonetheless. Bravo, Samsung.
