One of the greatest things about video games is that it does not have to be fancy. I know I have said this before about Minecraft and here I am saying it again for the game called Out There. This is a game that is easy to play but very difficult to master unless you put the effort in to defeating the game. The game has one simple premise, survive. Yet it is the hardest thing to do when every decision made has a consequence.

What is this game about?

You play as an astronaut that was sent to a mission to Jupiter to gather resources. He awakens from his cryogenic sleep only to realize that he is not at his destination nor does he know how long he has been asleep for. Now the astronaut is faced with a new mission find a way back home, and survive long enough to get back. Along the way you can visit other solar systems to gather resources to make it back alive. Each planet type has their type own resources: gas planets contain fuel, rocky planets contain rare elements and garden planets contain oxygen and native intelligent life. Each play through is randomly generated so no two games are the exact same.

Who is this game for?

Any one who is a glutton for punishment. Seriously, you will die many times and there is no one to blame but yourself. Yes, you should have choose the other path. Yes, you should have gone down to that one planet to see if it had the slightest chance of a rare goody. This game is also for those ready to do some homework; Either by researching or by putting in the time yourself, you will need to use some brain power in this game to last long enough to reach one the endings. And yes, this game has more than one possible ending.

My final thoughts?

I placed much work into this game and it paid off in the end. I got to see one of the endings and the story of how it ended only made me want to play this game more just to see the other possible endings. This is a game that does not take skill but intelligence. You have to plan three steps ahead and even for things that can happen out of nowhere. Yes, I could have did a Google search to help me through this game but my stubbornness refused to. I wrote down notes of different possible outcomes and other things as well. Yes, I know I am being vague about the details but I feel that this game can be appreciated not knowing what you are going to get yourself into.

In conclusion, I had a lot of fun playing this game. As frustrating as this game can be it was fun to play this adventure. Even more I know I can pat my self on the back knowing that the place I earned my self on the Google Play Games leader board was one that I earned with my hard work and not once researched an answer. Let me know what you think in the comments below, and while you’re there, let me know what games you recommend I should play next.
