AirDroid makes massive update; Real time screenshots, Drag&Drop file support and much More

I know for a fact that we have covered AirDroid here in the past. I know I use it daily and have turned a few friend on to it that can’t live with out it now. We haven’t talked about it in a while tough, so lets give everyone that hasn’t heard of AirDrod a quick run down on what it is first.

AirDroid is a free app for your wickedly awesome Android device that allows you to connect to your PC via you home network wirelessly. You can send and receive text message, browse your files on your device, transfer files, install and uninstall applications and even play music and movies on your phone on your PC. It is a really handy and very use application. Especially if you spend a great deal of time on your computer. Set up takes like a minute and is so easy to use that even the non techy first timers, moms, dads and grandparents can use it with ease.

Just yesterday the application received an update. This isn’t your typical bug fix/ performance enhancement update either. The developers of SAND STUDIO have really put a lot of work into this update and have added quite a few new and wonderful features to the application. For instance, you can now take real-time screenshots of your device directly on your PC. No need to run crazy commands, use apps on your phone then transfer them to the PC. Simple click on the Screenshot icon on the browsers desktop and grant SU to the app. That’s it, it updates the image on your PC about every second and you can snap a picture and save it.

Another great addition to the application is the ability to Drag&Drop files to and from your device and PC. Previously you had to upload or download the files. Kind of a pain, but it worked. Seems this option only works in the Chrome browser though, but that shouldn’t be a problem for almost all of our readers anyways. We are pretty much in love with this application. We can’t think of an app out there that provides so much to functionality to our Android devices that is FREE and looks this good.
