Archos Brings 5 New Android Tablets to the Table

Tablet talk is stirring all around the Android community at the moment as Samsung is set to formally announce their Galaxy Tab tomorrow with IFA 2010 kicking off on Friday. Archos has announced 5 new tablets set to indulge in the tablet feeding frenzy. Each tablet comes with their name being their display size. Thanks for making it easier on us, Archos.

Features of all 5 devices include:

  • Android 2.2
  • USB 2.0
  • WiFi b/g/n
  • TFT LCD screens of various resolutions
  • G-sensors

Below is a more detailed list of specs pertaining to each device:

  • Archos 10.1 : 8 or 16 GB of internal memory + microSD card slot, 1024×600 screen, 1GHz ARM A8, front-facing VGA camera, mini HDMI out
  • Archos 7.0 : 8GB internal memory + microSD card slot OR 250GB internal HDD (!), 800×480 screen, 1GHz ARM A8, front-facing VGA camera, mini HDMI out
  • Archos 4.3 :  8 or 16 GB of internal memory + microSD card slot, 480×854 screen, 1GZh ARM A8, 2MP camera for taking pictures and videos, mini HDMI out
  • Archos 3.2 : 8 GB internal memory, 400×240 screen, 800 MHz ARM A8, composite video out
  • Archos 2.8 : 4 or 8 GB internal memory, 320×240 screen, 800 MHz ARM A8

The Archos tablet 4.3 and above will be equipped with a kickstand and speakers and it looks like none of these devices will support the Android Market, so get ready to side load your applications. Pricing and available have not yet been announced, but we should learn a little more following IFA.
