Carrier IQ free update rolling out to Sprints Samsung Epic 4G Touch

A new update is soon to find its way to your beloved Epic 4G Touch. Happily named EL29, the update brings only minor changes to your device. The official changelog from Sprint lists just three. Security update, dismissing multiple calendar alerts and Commercial Alert System (CMAS) activated. Along with the listed updates, there is also an update to the devices internal radios as well. None of this sounds super amazing, but the security update actually removes Carrier IQ from the device. If you update for no other reason, then it is still worth your time and efforts. The update has begun rolling out today and Sprint expects all E4GT’s to be hit with in 10 days.
