China’s Three Major Carriers to Receive Samsung Galaxy S

Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S is headed to China and why shouldn’t they? It seems like they’ve already tapped into every other market and with the Samsung Fascinate wrapping up the last top U.S. carrier, they might as well keep going strong.

The devices to hit China will each carry different 3G standards:

  • China Telecom – SCH-I909 CDMA200 Galaxy S
  • China Mobile – GT-I9008 TD-SCDMA Galaxy S
  • China Unicom – GT-I9088 WCDMA Galaxy S

Regarding the Chinese launch, Samsung’s JK Shin stated:

“China is one of the fastest growing mobile markets and offers great potential. I am very pleased to introduce Samsung Galaxy S, which has been customized for the needs of Chinese consumers. I hope that Chinese consumers will enjoy the real value of the smart mobile experience with Samsung Galaxy S.”

The first device of the three to launch in China will be China Telecom’s Galaxy S later in September which will feature dual-standby for CDMA and GSM networks. The other two devices will launch sometime before the end of the year. The Unicom Galaxy S will look like AT&T’s Captivate while the other two devices will be the international versions. Samsung has done a great job with marketing for their Galaxy S devices, let’s see if other manufactures can learn from them.
