Thanks to the power of the internet and Google +, the Epic CM team just let everyone know that an update hit get.cm for the Samsung Epic 4G. That would be the original Samsung Galaxy S device, not the Galaxy S II. In true fashion, we thought it was worthy of sharing to our audience just in case you missed it. In Beta 3 you will find a whole slew of new stuff that is sure make you grin from ear to ear. You will have Theme Chooser added back in, that alone is just plain awesome. You will also find the lockscreen shortcuts too, this allows you to set any of the 5 unlock options to any application you wish. The really great part about this is the use of the actual apps icon on your lockscreen. There are a number of other additions and a pretty great list of fixes also. You can read up on them all at the Epic 4G release notes page.

Before you get all click happy with excitement, the team points out some pretty important things that you must do prior to flashing the new update. Such as Removing Voltage control, setCPU and ‘Set on Boot. Again, all the super IMPORTANT things to do before hand are on the release notes page. They don’t tell you all this stuff just to hear them selves talk, there is a reason for it, so if you don’t follow the instructions it is your fault. Once you have everything done, head the CyanogenMOD Epic 4G page for downloads and install instructions.
