ComScore: Android Bounces Back, Did the Galaxy S3 Help?

ComScore has released their newest mobile OS market share numbers, and this time, Android is back from its lull. After having a depressing couple of months, Android is back, moving above the 51% market share mark, after going below it in April and May.

This was expected, as the Galaxy S3 came out in June, and preorders were around the 9-10 million mark. But did the Galaxy S3 help? Well it looks like it helped a little bit, but it appears that most of the preorders were from existing Android owners as opposed to iOS or Blackberry owners. Unfortunately, this isn’t near the growth Android had, even at the beginning of 2012. It seems, as reported earlier, Android might have reached its peak market share, even in the face of the Galaxy S3.
