Confirmed: Samsung likely to announce the Galaxy Note 7, official logo leaks

Rumors have being floating around since a few days that Samsung might skip a numeral and launch the Galaxy Note 7. Renowned leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks) has posted a new photo on Twitter confirming that the South Korean giant will indeed name the next Galaxy Note device as the Galaxy Note 7.

There’s no doubt that Galaxy Note 7 will directly compete with the upcoming iPhone. It is rumored to feature a large 5.8-inch curved Super AMOLED screen display (5.77 inches, to be precise).  The 12-megapixel primary camera might feature laser autofocus for faster focus in low-light conditions. Moreover, the Galaxy Note 7 is expected to feature either a faster version of the Exynos 8890 (the Snapdragon 823 processor for the American markets), a whopping 6GB of RAM, and a microSD card slot.

The Galaxy Note 7 would most probably be IP68-certified for water- & dust-resistant, similar to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. It might also feature a USB Type-C port, which would be the first time for a smartphone from Samsung. The South Korean smartphone giant might announce the Galaxy Note 7 on the 2nd of August, 2016.
