WeMail Featured

We have partnered up with WeMail to help give you guys a chance to win some much-needed holiday shopping money and a t-shirt. Before I get to how you can enter the give-away, I should show you a little bit about WeMail. WeMail was funded by a few fellows who have some serious knowledge under their belt. Justin Kan and Emmett Shear, the founders of Twitch are part of it all. So is Tikhon Bernstam, the founder of Scribd and Parse, Sean Byrnes, the founder of Flurry, and Steve Huffman, co-founder of Reddit. If the idea and app was good enough for them to put their money in, then it made it worth checking out for me.

WeMail is an app that will quickly and easily organize your inbox into a chat like experience and condense things down for you. All automagically of course.  It does quite a bit more than just group messages together.

WeMail’s key features and capabilities include:

  • WeMail Voice– For the first time, WeMail gives email a voice. Based on patent-pending technology users can send and reply to any email with a personal Voice note up to 20 seconds long. Users can record and send a Voice Note with just one tap. Fellow WeMail app recipients will see the Voice Note instantly in their email stream and can press play to listen to the message with one click. If they don’t have the WeMail app, it will be sent as an audio attachment which they can play through their media player.  No other email app lets you record and send messages immediately via email in your own voice.
  • Instant Email– Emails to fellow WeMail app users are sent and appear at the speed of IM. There’s no need to wait for delivery or to refresh the inbox.  Emails appear in conversation streams as soon as the ‘Send’ button is pushed.  And like IM, recipients can see when someone is in the process of writing a message or uploading an attachment.  This feature can also be turned off.  IM-like email is unique to WeMail.
  • Clutter-free inbox – WeMail organizes emails by sender cutting instantly reducing the size of any inbox by more than 64% on average.  Email is now organized in a way that makes it easy to navigate and find conversations.  With WeMail, email streams are transformed into a clean text message-like format rather than dense, long and convoluted threads.
  • One tap access to attachments– WeMail provides one-tap access to all attachments by sender. To find any document, PDF, photo, etc. that was sent or received, users click on a name and then click the attachments button to see all attachments sent between the user and that sender.
  • Real-time contextual search– WeMail offers advanced search capability within the app. Simply enter a keyword and WeMail shows any word or phrase in the context of the information around it. This makes it easier and faster to find anything in your inbox.
  • Optimized for Mobile – Because WeMail organizes email by contacts and offers Voice Notes and Instant Email, finding and sending email becomes much faster.  When compared to Gmail, Mailbox, Outlook, AOL and Yahoo! Mail, WeMail takes 80% fewer screen scrolls and 33% fewer taps to get to an email; and gives you one-tap access to your attachments.

She has a material look and feel to it that makes it rather appealing visually. By grouping senders together you get a speedier look at things from companies, friends and family members without needing to search through hundreds of other things before hand. It has a bit of a Inbox by Gmail look to it, but is a lot different in many respects. For starters it supports more than just Gmail. You can add you Yahoo, Outlook and AOL accounts too with IMAP and Exchange support on the way.

As mentioned above, the app also offers up themes to change the look of your WeMail inbox and possibly one of my favorite aspects is a quick tab to access just the attachments that have been emailed to you. Heck, most of the attachments you see in the middle were for this contest post and show me as the sender. That alone makes finding that picture or document that was sent over a breeze.

The “note to self” sections is also extremely useful.  I still have a terrible habit of emailing myself links to things I want to possibly order or read later. While all of the features and functions are quite nice, it is knowing how condensed my email acount has become. As evident in the final image showing that I am saving 57 minutes a week and 685 scrolls with a 92% smaller inbox. I like that. A lot actually.

That brings us to the partnership give away with WeMail. How do you enter to win that $100 Amazon Gift card? Entry is simple. So follow the steps to get the ball rolling.

This will be an international give away opportunity, so it is open to the world. At least, as long as you have access to Amazon in your locale. The timeline to enter will run from today, December 10th 2014 9:30 a.m. PST through Sunday December 14th at 5 p.m. PST. That gives you guys 5 days to push it hard. Once the give away concludes we will randomly select a winner that met the minimum criteria of sharing their WeMail Stats. Be sure to include the hashtag or we can’t track it. WeMail will be handling delivery of the Amazon Gift Card and T-Shirt (which you can see below). Depending on your location shipping times will vary. We will work closely with them and the winner to ensure a smooth delivery though.
