Google Wallet updates, shows some love for other US Carriers Finally [Download]

Google Wallet Update
Google has pushed out an update for Google Wallet today that packs in quite a bit of awesomeness for U.S. consumers. The latest updated version is now open to all U.S. Android users running at least Android 2.3 or newer. The “all U.S. Android user” is probably the best, and somewhat disappointing, part. The update does now let T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon customers pick up Google Wallet. We all know how exciting that is for many of you. However, there is a drawback. While you will be able to install the app and utilize it, you won’t have the option to make NFC payments. (cause, you know, they still want ISIS to be the king.)

It is good to see that other carriers are finally letting Google Wallet onto their devices, even though it is still a bit restricted. The three carriers mentioned will probably never allow Google Wallet to fully be used legitimately since they all have their own plans to bring ISIS to consumers. You can expect a modified app that will allow for NFC use to make an appearance somewhere shortly, if it hasn’t already.

The updated app for Android will let you send money to ANY U.S. email address who is 18 or older of course. It is FREE to send the money from your bank account or Google Wallet balance, but there is a small charge if sending it from a credit or debit card.

Let us not forget to mention the option to scan those annoying loyalty cards into Wallet as well.

In addition to your loyalty cards, you can easily carry and use your offers with the Google Wallet app. No matter where you’ve found your offer – in the Google Maps app, Google Search, Google+ or Google Offers, they’re visible and redeemable in your Wallet app at checkout. And later this week, you’ll also be able to save offers on select merchant and couponing sites such as Valpak. Just show the offer on your app at checkout to redeem it. We’re working with many partners to bring you great offers, and will be adding more soon. It’s saving made simple.

Google is certainly working hard to strengthen their app offerings and make life a little simpler for all us Android toting addicts.

You can head directly to the Play Store and see if you can pick it up today if you would like. Google notes that you might see an error that message that states, ‘This app is compatible with some of your devices’, it just means the latest version might not be available in for you yet. As always though, we have procured the APK for your installing pleasure. It may or maynot work for everyone and if you have issues with it then you should just be patient and wait for Google to get the update out naturally to you. For those that like to try anyways, hit the link below and install like you would any other side loaded app.
