March 22nd booked by Samsung for event in France, could this be the Galaxy SIII Announcement?

Looks like Samsung has booked an event in France next month on the 22nd. As soon as this news hit the web the rumors and speculation began flying that it will be the Samsung Galaxy SIII announcement that we are all so eager to finally see. We know that they are skipping MWC as the platform for the devices debut and that they would be planning a separate event, so this lines up fairly well. We also heard rumors of an event that was aimed closer to the 2012 Summer Olympics. Those don’t start until late July in London. If the previous release date of the SGSGIII, May, is correct though, then the summer games idea is out of the question entirely.

It seems odd that if this is going to be the announcement that we have been waiting for that only French media outlets have been invited and alerted to the date. Even if this device will initially launch in the French markets, it is still a big device that will get international notoriety in a hurry. We are about 60 – 40 against this being the about the SGSIII. We are certain it will be an Android related event, but are leaning more towards an integrated Google TV or possibly a regional device announcement.

We can keep our fingers crossed though. Do you guys think this will be a small event for the SGSIII or some other device that Samsung has been working on?
