Micromax Unite 4 and Unite 4 Pro launched in India with multiple Indic language support

After facing cut-throat competition from Chinese smartphone companies, India’s Micromax has shifted its focus a bit towards being more Indian than others. The company has launched two new smartphones, the Micromax Untie 4 and the Micromax Unite 4 Pro, in India with support for multiple languages.

The Micromax Unite 4 features a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display, a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Indus OS 2.0, which has support for 12 Indian languages. It sports an 8-megapixel primary camera with autofocus and LED flash, and a 5-megapixel secondary camera with a fixed-focus lens. It features a dual-SIM card slot, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and microUSB 2.0 port.

The Micromax Unite 4 Pro features a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display, similar to the Unite 4, but comes with a better processor. It features a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC9832 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot. The device is running Indus OS 2.0 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, but the company has assured that the device would be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow soon. It features the same connectivity features as the Micromax Unite 4.

The prices of these Micromax Mobiles have been set at INR 6,999 (Micromax Unite 4) and INR 7,499 (Micromax Unite 4 Pro), and they will be available in India exclusively through Snapdeal. The phones also come with App Bazaar (app marketplace with support for Indian languages), free Indus-to-Indus SMS, voice recognition system in six Indian languages, and an ability to pay for apps without using an email ID or a credit card.
