Vivo X7 and X7 Plus launched in China, seems to be inspired by Oppo F1 Plus

Chinese smartphone vendor Vivo has launched two new mid-range smartphones, the Vivo X7 and the Vivo X7 Plus, in the country. Both smartphones come with metal unibodies, high-resolution front-facing cameras, Super AMOLED displays, and fingerprint sensors. Seems like daughter companies of BBK Electronics, Oppo Mobiles and Vivo Mobiles are competing among themselves as their recent launches, the Oppo F1 Plus and Vivo X7 Plus feature similar specifications and design.

Vivo X7

The Vivo X7 features a 5.2-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass protection, Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, and a fingerprint sensor. It sports a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with Æ’/2.2 aperture and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with Æ’/2.0 aperture and front-facing LED flash. It runs the company’s Funtouch OS based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, which is a shame considering that it has almost been a year since the release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Connectivity options include LTE, Wi-Fi ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and microUSB port.

Vivo X7 Plus

The Vivo X7 features a larger 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass top. Similar to the Vivo X7, the X7 Plus is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage space. It also features a fingerprint sensor embedded into its front-facing home button. There’s a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera (Sony IMX298) and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with Æ’/2.0 aperture and a front-facing LED flash. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Funtouch OS, and packs a 4,000 mAh battery.

The Vivo X7 comes with a price tag of CNY 2498 (USD 375), but the company is yet to announce the pricing of the Vivo X7 Plus. The Vivo X7 will go on sale in China starting July 7, 2016 from JD.com and other online stores.
