Onkyo Moves into the Android Tablet Market

Onkyo released three Windows based tablets earlier this year that were pretty darn good for running Windows after all. They have now moved onto bigger and better things and have announced two new Android tablets.

The Slatepad TA117C3 model is packing:

  • Android Froyo 2.2
  • 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 250 processor
  • 10.1 inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1024×600
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 16GB of flash memory
  • HDMI interface

The device is also packing a lackluster 1.3 Mp camera. Still though the specs could certainly be worse. The second model is the Slatepad TA117C1. The only difference between the 2 pads is RAM and Memory. The C1 houses 512 RAM and 8GB of storage.

Still nothing confirmed on availability on an international level. Currently they are available for sale only in Japan. Hopefully they can get shipped across the Ocean if the price is right.
