Patent filing from Google wants to listen to your calls for better ad Placement

There is a point in time when ads and product placement is just to much. New information is leading back to a Google patent filing that would give the search giant more power than ever. Allowing them, or at least a computer, to analyze the background noise while you are on a phone call. Why would they want to do this? So they can detect keywords like Coke, Pepsi, McDonalds or other triggers to direct ads to you specifically from what they hear. If the Google mega computers pick up rain in the background, they might ship you over an ad where you can get an umbrella on sale. Of course this just a filing for new technology and might not see the light of day, at least not yet.

I know there are already a number of technologies that direct ads to websites, my Gmail account, my phone and other places based on websites I visit and places I sign up for alerts from. I can’t imagine where and why listening to my calls would ever be a good thing. All of it seems like an invasion of privacy to me. Do you guys think Google or anyone else for that matter needs to analyze what we say to better market ads to us? If I talk about Cocaine, will Google send me local rehab clinics with special rates? I wonder if I turn on a dirty movie for all my calls if they will send me discounts on Playboy subscriptions. It is all starting to remind of a less popular movie called Hardwired. Where corporation own everything and one company starts experimenting with brain implants to feed ads right in front of your face all day.
