Samsung Galaxy Pop Plus spotted online for India Launch

The Samsung Galaxy Pop Plus may not be a name known to many, most may know it better as the Samsung Galaxy Mini. No matter what you know it as, it is definitely on the lower end of the spectrum as far as devices are concerned. The latest updated version of this device was recently spotted on FlipKart today, but is listed as out of stock.

The Pop Plus really isn’t anything special. Samsung bumped the processor form the original 600MHz to a whopping 832MHz. It sports a tiny 3.14 inch screen at a resolutiion of only 320X240. A 3MP camera, 164MBs internal memory, Touchwiz 3.0 and a 1200mAh battery. To make matters worse, Samsung is releasing the device with Android 2.2, Froyo. We can only hope that Samsung already has a Gingerbread update ready to roll out for this little guy.

What is the going rate for a device of this caliber? They have the device listed for INR 8,330. To put that in Dollars, you would be looking to drop $170 on a phone that is 2 years behind its time.
