Samsung Galaxy S II for AT&T Will have a Keyboard

Yesterday we showed you an rendering of a possible new device from Samsung to hit AT&T in the near future. I didn’t want to hint at the fact that I thought it might be the SGS2 variant, but that looks to be exactly what it is going to be. A few actual photos of the device surfaced over at BGR this morning.

The device is packing a model number of  SGH-I927, running Android 2.3.4 and judging from the benchmark scores, screams with power. Looking at the keyboard you can see they have them back lit for easy use late at night, which is a deal breaker for most when it comes to a keyboard on a device. Taking a look at the back of the device reveals an 8 MP camera with, what appears to be, a single LED flash. Even though the Galaxy S line is known for their thinness, adding in a keyboard will make this a little thicker. Not to mention add some more weight to the device. looking at the back of the device you will also notice an odd textured back, it almost looks unnatural. it appears to be rubberized which will help you grip the device, but the camera panel looks like it is just slapped on.

I know many people have been waiting the SGSII to come stateside, but I don’t think anyone expected AT&T and Samsung to butcher the device. Now that you guys have had a chance to take a look at what the device really looks like, are you still wanting to get one? Or did they completely miss the mark with the design?
