Sprints Nexus S 4G Update Kills Free Tethering – Root Version Available

What a shocker! Not really, we all knew tethering with out paying an arm and a leg from the carrier for a standard feature was starting to get noticed in a bad way. With the latest update for the Nexus S from Sprint, they have managed to kill that functionality and require you to get a data package for it. Look on the bright side though, with the latest 2.3.5 update (GRJ90), you will at least get better 4G connection.

For the Root users out there that like to keep things stock, the devs have you covered. Over at the Android central forums, Shabbypenguin, has put up a fully flashable CWM zip that is pre-rooted, deodexed, and with busybox. That makes life a little easier. That sad news though, you still lose your free tethering with this zip too. What a drag. Its up to you now to decided if the added 4G connectivity is worth losing your tethering option.
