T-Mobile and AT&T Asking FCC Approval for 1 Billion Dollar Spectrum Transfer

Fellow T-Mobile customers will be glad to hear that the Wall Street Journal reported that AT&T and T-Mobile have asked the FCC for approval for a 1 billion dollars worth of AT&T’s AWS spectrum to be transferred to T-Mobile. T-Mobile was already promised part of AT&T’s sprectrum after the merger debacle that failed.

“This additional spectrum will help meet the growing demand for wireless broadband services,” said Tom Sugrue, T-Mobile’s senior vice president for government affairs. We hope the FCC will move swiftly to approve the license assignments.”

T-Mobile is also still getting a nice chunk of change that is 3 billion dollars, and getting AT&T’s AWS spectrum will help out T-Mobile in the carrier market. AT&T…how does all this feel?
