Porting and modding various applications to different devices is nothing new. Live wallpapers are usually the first to be pulled and offered. Right alongside launchers and various other apps that might be new on a new device. It should come as no surprise then that a chunk of apps, UI elements and widgets have been snagged from the recently released Xperia S device. XDA member jjkkyu has taken a fairly large chunk of the Xperia S UI and has made it compatible with the Xperia Play. Giving you much more than just a live wallpaper. Just to name a few. The Bravia Engine is also included and a second package install is available with other additions and fixes.
There are a few requirements for your device to be able to successfully install the Xperia S experience on your Play device. You need to be on Android 2.3.4 (42/58/62)Â and nothing below that version. It doesn’t work on any other device, at least not yet anyways. The install has been tested on official firmware and not on any custom ROM’s. While I am sure many of you are already ROM’d out and running something special, if you have a habit of being flash happy, then restore to stock firmware first and then give this a go. The whole experience looks pretty nice.
